Congratulations! Kiva.org has been announced as a winner of Omidyar.net's Q4 Funding Project.
Kiva.org is a winner of the Comprehensive Connectivity Initiative: "This initiative seeks to build new infrastructure, tools, curriculum and nuts and bolts resources for grassroots groups seeking to bring computers and internet access to their areas for the first time." Kiva.org today raised its ONE MILLIONTH DOLLAR for the developing world.
This marks a major milestone for the organization, and demonstrates that real change can be created by average individuals who want to make a difference.
Kiva.org would like to thank our 13,000 users who have contributed, $25 at a time, to lending ONE MILLION DOLLARS to entrepreneurs in the developing world. Kiva.org today announced its latest African Field Partner, Hluvuku (Hluvuku-Adsema Fundo de Credito Male yeru) in Mozambique.
Hluvuko's mission is to improve the socio-economic conditions of the population in the Matutuine district and contiguous areas, providing sustainable services to low income people, considering the viability of the initiatives.
