About Kiva Stories from the Field

On this blog, Kiva Fellows not only document their experiences with microfinance, they also highlight the culture, history, politics, geography, and cuisine of their host countries while introducing readers to friends, colleagues, and entrepreneurs. In one day, you might learn about the nuts and bolts of microfinance administration in Nepal, watch a slideshow of people celebrating a local holiday in Colombia, visit a shop-owner in Rwanda, and experience the challenges of making a living from silk-weaving in Cambodia. And that doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of the fantastic and fun original content you’ll find on this site.

We hope you’ll join us on our trip around the world of microfinance and that you’ll share your own experiences and insights in the comments. All we ask is that everyone approaches the dialogue thoughtfully.

We look forward to hearing from you!
