This week, we welcomed 11 interns into our Kiva family! This marks our 25th cohort of interns and the very first time that we’ve hosted training week in Portland.
Our impressive cohort was selected out of a competitive pool of over 250 applicants. These interns will now go on to work with nine different teams across our offices in San Francisco, Portland and New York City.
Our interns learned more about our WeWork offices in Portland and how our teams collaborate!Throughout our intensive two-day training period, the interns learned about Kiva’s history, mission, model and more. But it doesn’t end there! Our interns and staff members built lasting relationships while showing off their bowling skills.

Also, this is just the beginning! In addition to the skills and experiences that our interns gain through their work, they’ll also participate in professional development workshops, educational programs and a microfinance forum where they’ll learn about the microfinance realm as a whole and the role that Kiva plays in it.
